• The Kubratovo wastewater treatment plant project focuses on reducing methane emissions and producing energy by capturing methane from wastewater. The project involves modernising sludge treatment processes, replacing traditional methods with advanced technologies.

Objectives:

• Key objectives include reducing methane and carbon dioxide emissions, minimising sludge volume, and producing electricity and heat from captured biogas.

• The initiative contributes to environmental sustainability by implementing EU-recommended sludge treatment practices and reducing greenhouse gas emissions from various sources.

Green Carbon Bulgaria contribution:

• Development and registration of the complete documentation for a GHG emissions reduction project under Gold Standard for the Global Goals (GS4GG) voluntary program.

• Management of the monitoring process, calculation of the emission reductions  and preparation of periodical monitoring reports.
